Massive disappointment. I played a ton when Rend was released into EA and thought it had huge potential. However, the game bled players due to a few poor design choices that never really got addressed (zero incentive for a losing team to stick out a full "cycle" which can take weeks to conclude, and zero chance of a team putting in less hours to actually put up a fight with greater skill/coordination). Watching the devs continually miss the mark in their patches was a painful experience because I REALLY want this game to be good and popular, but it is neither. What's even more frustrating is that they never seemed to want to involve the community in development even though we ALL HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS. They finally gave up after putting in the bare minimum of effort to walk through their development roadmap, though I don't particularly blame them since I'm sure they are seeing zero income from sales at this point.I resisted making a review until now in the hopes FK would get their♥♥♥♥♥♥together, but they never did. Now I just want to vent. The sour taste Rend left in my mouth leaves me questioning whether I'd consider buying their next game. They seem to have passion and the drive to try out some original ideas, but they don't have the flexibility to pivot when their ideas fail (as many inevitably do).. How do i get a refund for this, its Conan but worse, and theres like NO ONE on it.. Feels like WoW but lacks a run-from-localhost single player without considerable efforts. When the game company decides to go under there will be no way to play this game officially.. This never should have been a 19 player faction based game. The idea was awesome when it first hit the store, everyone was playing it, it was tight. Factions died within DAYS. Its hard enough to get 19 people to play together on a server on a daily basis. The option to play in a faction of your own size should have been in the game from the jump. Me and 3 friends could have made more headway in this game then trying to scramble together with 19 other players that faded in and out. Games dead. Dont buy.. game developers keep reintroducing old bugs back into the game. if server is up for more than 2 weeks more bugs kick in. mostly artists that actually just bought graphics packs from other companies and maybe one to 2 programmers that barely have actually programmed. No actual real vision besides money grabs from entire team. Game had potential and then they went the wrong way with everything ignoring all user feedback. They don't have some content shown in preview in game, game crashes a lot when loading and even closing the game.. The game is really good, but it has some problems. The game doesn't have a direction on where it wants to go. It started out as a faction survival game with much potential, but with new updates and nerfs the community decided to wait until the game fixed itself. Everyone I know that played the game decided to wait for the game to fix itself and go onto different games while that happens. I guess everyone had the same idea because the game basically has no players. If the game would've started at the $15.00 price tag instead of the $30.00 things might have been different but steam charts doesn't lie. The game lost 82% of its players after it's launch and slowly went down from there. Game is good, but only if the community comes back.
